Was gonna put some of my stuff on YouTube, but now thinking twice. However, since YouTube quality is poor, to be fair, royalties should reflect this. If they won't agree to some fair deal, then I say boycott them.

Royalty payments is one of the best things to receive, it enhances the power of creativity, within the music industry, especially for me as a new member of PRS for Music. I would like to receive, royalty payments as much as, is able to be paid in full, where and whenever royalties, are rightfully generated.

Hi there, please let's stick together. Let us convince the world that artists need to be able to earn a fair amount of money. It is tough anyway to make a living and we are not greedy at all. Just respect our work and passion. Just be fair!

I hope the matter can be resolved :P

I wish that young and old should start to understand that it must be up to the composer/writer to decide if our music is to be shared for free or not.

It's hard enough for songwriters to make a living in the UK without the technology companies conspiring still further to squeeze a few more concessions from the industry. Stand strong PRS for Music.

As a composer, I, like many others, rely on being paid for the work I do, whenever it brings enjoyment to others. I fully support PRS for Music in their quest to seek fair reward for music creators for use of their music online.

No-one will be able to afford to make music if things like this are allowed to pass. It may be seen by some as a luxury to make a living making music, but it’s as difficult a job as any, and while I do get a good deal of satisfaction from it, it is not an easy career by any stretch of the imagination.

Jack Arnold, songwriter - 27 March 2009

Thank you PRS for Music for the online forum. This is essential for songwriters burgeoning and modifying the gift of music.

It’s hard enough as it is, it also seems like there's a culture of 'music should be free' with no consideration as to who made it and how they're supposed to make a living!

I agree with your stance on this issue and pledge my support!

I support PRS for Music in this campaign. It's only right and fair that artists or creators are paid/reap the benefits from what they may have created. Hopefully, this will all be resolved soon as it's a total non-necessity.

At this stage of PRS for Music fighting for the songwriters rights it is important to stand up and be counted. This is what I am hereby doing!

Online music should be paid for, and the requisite percentage should go to the creator.

The internet has made a whole generation think that music is available free. Creators of music need to be able to earn money somehow, and Google is attempting to remove one of the few sources of revenue left.

This debate begs an even bigger question: about what kind of world we want - one built on the flow of ideas and creativity? Or one based on the price of raw materials and wheat yields? If your answer is the former, there's an inescapable conclusion: Creators must be rewarded, and corporations needs to not just reward them, but be seen to be doing so.

This is simply appalling. Greed trumps honest effort every time in this failed experiment of a society. My best wishes and continued word-of-mouth support.

It is about time that music, its creators and performers of it were respected more. PRS for Music does great work on behalf of writers & composers of music. There are constant changes taking place in this music/media revolution. The likes of Google etc are not used to bodies who know the true worth of theirs or similar work such as PRS for Music and its important to fight for what's right. Good on you 'Fair Play for Creators' I am 100% behind you!

We songwriters & composers need to be compensated for our work and not taken advantage of. I am in full support of this petition.

Every artist like myself struggle and push their limitations on creating the best product possible to entertain and create enjoyment for listeners. Though there are a few who enjoy the backing of investments and financial support, there are many including myself who try their best to generate earnings from each creation. If usage of a record is used by a website that can boast millions of pounds in profit, then they should be able to pay the people who help make that possible.

It seems to me in the current raft of issues and the constant disregard for writers and creators of music by large powerful organisations [nothing new of course!!] without us they wouldn't be in business so FPCC is a good way forward and good luck to all of us.

Google won't pay the going rate for music use because they're powerful enough to challenge it. The 'going rate' is always negotiable in any business, and powerful companies always try to fix it in their favour. My full support for PRS for Music to stand firm in this matter.
